ABOUT THE PROJECT
Drafty was an engineering project for ME203: Design and Manufacturing, a class where students are challenged
to create something that uses several manufacturing processes. My project was a lightbox tracing table
with folding legs.
ME203: Design and Manufacturing pushed my limits and comfort level in the PRL and as an engineer. I had never
had so much freedom and flexibility in a project, so by the time I had handcrafted an entire table, it meant I had made hundreds of small decisions. Every part I decided to buy, every hole I decided to drill, even every grain of sandpaper I decided to use was deeply thought out during the process.
Below are some of my process photos from my time in the Stanford Product Realization Lab. I worked
hard over 10 weeks to create something I am deeply proud of. Every detail of this project was an incredible learning opportunity and I finished the quarter with a new appreciation for everyday items.
